The Gazette and Gazette Charities remain steadfast in our commitment to the community. Each year, Gazette Charities partners with more than 200 local community organizations to support those making a difference in the Pikes Peak Region.
Gazette Charities is the philanthropic arm of The Gazette serving to promote and support the important work of enhancing the quality of life for all citizens and capacity of our community to meet the needs of the future.
Our five areas of focus include building public capital, encouraging self-sufficiency and self-responsibility, strengthening families and youth, nurturing the environment through volunteer action and sustaining major cultural institutions.
Colorado Springs is a highly philanthropic community. We feel it is our responsibility to cultivate meaningful partnerships between our neighbors and local organizations, encouraging engagement in our community and making a lasting impact while building a new generation of philanthropists.
One aspect of Gazette Charities is The Gazette-El Pomar Empty Stocking Fund, a collaborative community effort to raise funds each winter for 15 local agencies on the front lines of helping people in crisis and others in attaining self-sufficiency. Last year, the Empty Stocking Fund raised more than $1,065,000 and distributed it directly to our partner agencies. We are really amazed and humbled by what the collective team, including donors, campaign partners, media partners and a host of others, can accomplish.
The Gazette has been a corporate citizen literally since the founding of Colorado Springs and we look forward to building and protecting the spirit and vitality of our community well into the future.
